New Delhi: TV actor Sheezan Khan who was earlier arrested on charges of abetting Tunisha Sharma's suicide has been granted bail. The accused has been granted bail on Rs. 1 lakh surety bond by the Vasai court which has also asked Khan to submit his passport, news agency ANI reported.

Sheezan Khan was arrested for alleged abetment of Sharma's suicide in December last year and was lodged under judicial custody.

Sheezan had been in a relationship with 21-year-old Tunisha but the two broke up 15 days before she committed suicide.

'Ali Baba' fame actor Tunisha Sharma committed suicide by hanging herself on Devember 24, 2022 during the shoot of her TV serial 'Ali Baba' near Valiv, in Maharashtra. Khan was arrested the next day after Tunisha's mother lodged a complaint against him.

A lot of accusations were exchanged between both families. Sheezan’s sister Falaq Naaz had been at the forefront to defend her brother and her family from the alleged accusations that had been circulating.

Sheezan Khan’s sisters Falaq Naaz and Shafaq Naaz and mother Kehkeshan Kaifi had held a press conference claiming his innocence. They had also said that Tunisha’s mother controlled her finances and she often had no money with her.

Following this, there was a lot of mudslinging between the two families, wherein Vanita Sharma also appeared in an interview alleging that she gave 3 lakh rupees to her daughter in the last three months and shared that her bank statements can be checked on account of Sheezan’s family’s accusations.

Earlier, Sheezan had petitioned the Bombay High Court for a quashing of the FIR lodged against him and a bail hearing earlier. Previously on January 13th, the Vasai Court in Maharashtra denied the TV star bail.

Khan was booked at the Thane jail on December 31.
