New Delhi: Actor Sheezan Khan, who was detained for allegedly aiding co-star Tunisha Sharma's suicide, has reportedly appealed for keeping his hair uncut and medical counselling.
The jail guideline on the handling of undertrials will be followed in the case of actor Sheezan Khan, authorities had informed a court in Maharashtra's Palghar district on Monday.
According to latest developement, Sheezan Khan's requests for hair cutting, increased jail security, and medical counselling have all been granted by the Vasai Court. For the next month, the actor for television won't get his hair chopped.
Earlier, authorities from Thane Central Jail made their plea in the Vasai Sessions Court in response to an application submitted by Khan's attorney Shailendra Mishra asking for permission for the actor to maintain his hair uncut for consistency in appearance during the filming of his serial.
According to the prison administration, only Sikh detainees are permitted to wear their hair long. Meanwhile, while Hindu inmates are allowed to wear a 'choti', and Muslims are allowed to grow beards.
The jail administration informed the court that the decision to trim hair will be made by the jailor because only Sikhs are allowed to wear their hair long.
Meanwhile, the hearing for Sheezan Khan's bail request is scheduled on January 7.
It was recently discovered that Kehekshan Faisi, Sheezan Khan's mother, received an emotional voicemail from Tunisha Sharma. Sheezan's sisters played the voice note for the press in Mumbai earlier on Monday, according to the news agency IANS.
On December 24, Tunisha Sharma, an actor from 'Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul', was found hanged in the bathroom on the set of the serial in Palghar, near Vasai. On December 25, Sheezan Khan, Sharma's former boyfriend and co-star, was taken into custody. He is currently detained by authorities and kept at Thane Central Jail.
