New Delhi: 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', the longest-running TV show is again in news after the show's director Malav Rajda decided to end his 14-year-old association with the show. This becomes the biggest exit after Shailesh Lodha, who played the titular role in the show, also quit the show in 2022. As per a Hindustan Times report, Rajda's exit happened because of a few differences between the director and the production house.

However, when the publication reached out to Rajda, he denied such speculation and is quoted to have said, “If you are set out to do good work, there will be creative differences within the team but it’s always to improve the show. I had no fallout with the production house. I only have gratitude for the show and for Asit bhai (Modi, show producer)."

As per the same report, Rajda is making the exit to grow more creatively. “After doing the show for 14 years, I thought I had gone into a comfort zone. I thought to grow creatively it’s best to move out and challenge myself.”

Sharing how his 14-year journey has been, Rajda shared,“These 14 years have been the most beautiful years of my life. I not only earned fame and money but also got my life partner Priya (Ahuja Rajda, actor-wife) from this show.”

Malav is married to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' actor Priya Ahuja who played the role of reporter Rita Shrivastav on the show.

Raj Anandkat, Shailesh Lodha, Disha Vakani, Neha Mehta, and Gurucharan Singh are some of the actors who quit the show. While it has been quite long since Disha Vakani quit the show, fans of the show are eagerly waiting for her return.

Earlier, in an interview with Indian Express, show's producer Asit Modi had shared how he had paid special attention to the show's casting and spent some time in getting the actors and prepping for the show. “We wanted to be sure that each actor suits the part. Also, we wanted them to be relatable. This is why we took mostly new faces. I had worked with Dilip Joshi and Disha Vakani too had been doing theatre. Even then, most of them had no experience working on a daily show and it took us time to get into the grind. Tappu Sena, the kids, were all new and I think they brought a different energy to the table. The actors made the show reach newer heights,” he had said.

'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah'  launched in 2008 on the SAB TV show is the longest-running show on Indian television.
