New Delhi: ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ star Munmun Dutta has been grabbing the limelight for her personal life for a while now. The actress, who plays the role of Babita ji, is being reportedly rumoured of dating her co-star from the show Raj Anadkat, who plays the role of Tappu in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’. The report sparked a meme fest on Twitter and netizens started slamming the actress for her age difference from Raj Anadkat.
Now, Munmun Dutta has finally responded to all these claims and penned down a note for the general public. She wrote in a statement that read, “To the general public, I had far better expectations from you. But the FILTH that you have showered in the comment section, even from the so called 'LITERATE' ones proves how regressive a society we are. Women are constantly AGE SHAMED , SLUT SHAMED , MOM SHAMED , at the cost of YOUR humour. Whether YOUR humour drives someone to the edge of a mental breakdown or not, is NEVER your concern. 13 years of entertaining people and it didn't take 13 minutes for anyone of you to RIP MY DIGNITY APART . So next time someone is clinically depressed or driven to take their own lives, pause and think whether it was YOUR WORDS that drove that person to the edge or not.”
She further continued and wrote, “Today, I am ashamed of calling myself a DAUGHTER OF INDIA”.
While sharing the post, she penned down a note that read, “So sorry to hear this. The internet is the worst sometimes, and truly a haven for the cowards who have nothing better to do with their lives than to try to put others down in order to make themselves feel better about themselves. YOU ARE AMAZING! Never forget it for a second!”
Munmun Dutta also faced flak on social media over her casteist remark a few days back. The actress later apologized citing ‘language barrier’ as the reason.
