‘India’s Best Dancer’ judge Geeta Kapur took to social media to inform her fans that her mother Rani Kapur passed away on January 12, 2021. She penned a heartfelt note on her mother’s one-month death anniversary and revealed that she didn’t share the news of her death due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Geeta, who has judged several reality shows, shared a heartwarming note for her mom and asked everyone to remember her in their prayers. She also thanked the people who knew about her mother’s demise but didn’t reveal the news.


Kapur posted a picture of her mother while sharing the post on her official Instagram handle. She wrote, “And just like that it’s been a month already ... for those who knew her, loved her will know she had a tough journey these past few years but has finally found peace.”


“She is on her best journey forward and I ask u all to keep her In ur prayers always just like she did for all those who came in contact with her,” she added.


Kapur also apologized to the people, whom she couldn’t inform about her mom’s death. She ended her note with the words, “Rani Kapur’s daughter, Geeta. Check out her post right here!

Geeta often shared throwback pictures of her mom on social media. Last year, she posted a photo of her mother along with the caption, “Holding her hand even to this day gives me a certain sense of security and protection.”



On the professional front, Geeta will soon be seen in ‘Super Dancer 4’, which will air on Sony TV. The popular dance reality show will be judged by the trio of Shilpa Shetty, Anurag Basu and Geeta Kapur. The makers have already announced the registration process for the fourth season of the show.
