New Delhi: Shark Tank India Season 2 is getting great pitches everyday. In the latest episode of the show, we saw a mother of two boys pitch the most interesting deal to the sharks. In fact, the entrepreneur mother and founder of Tea Fit was so good with numbers that she explained the minutest detail of pricing her product a certain way.
When investor Anupam Mittal asked her to explain why her plastic bottle of tea cost Rs. 30 in making when there was just Rs. 5 worth Ayurvedic herbs in it, she deconstructed the entire data down to the price of the cap worth 50 paise leaving all in awe. Not only did the sharks praise her clarity, confidence and ease of business-sense but also fought among themselves to invest in her business.
Another interesting highlight of the show was the brand Haqdarshak which aimed to become India’s biggest social security company. The idea of Haqdarshak was to help 90,000 lakh people in India use government schemes and benefit themselves and their families. This impact-worthy job and a cause with low profit margin despite some hiccups pleased the sharks with Namita Thapar and Aman Jain investing in the business.
The owner and founder of Haqdarshak brought tears to everyone’s eyes when he recounted how a poor man had to fold his hands in front of an officer to ask for his own 15-20 rupee pension.
Shark Tank India 2' is judged by Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com - People Group), Aman Gupta (Co-Founder and CMO of boAt), Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (Co-Founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics), Peyush Bansal (Founder & CEO of Lenskart.com), and Amit Jain CEO and Co-Founder, CarDekho Group and InsuranceDekho.com.
The reality show airs on Sony Entertainment Television from Monday to Friday at 10 PM.
