New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan appeared in the 1989 television film 'Umeed' before his time on the popular series 'Fauji'. The protagonist of the story is a banker who struggles to put things right for both the organisation and the people in his life. The superstar Shah Rukh Khan portrayed the banker in the film.

A Twitter user named Mimansa Shekhar posted some movie snippets on the microblogging platform.

“#ShahRukhKhan featured in a film #Umeed (1989) before he became famous. #SRK played a banker struggling to get settled in a village after his transfer there as a manager. Web show #Panchayat gave us a déjà vu of this plot. Can you draw parallels?" the tweet read.

The video has had over 440K views since it was posted, and many are already comparing it to the well-liked web series 'Panchayat'.

In addition to his first television series, Shah Rukh Khan has appeared in the projects 'Circus' (1989), 'Idiot' (1990), and 'Wagle Ki Duniya' (1988) in supporting roles. After making his film debut in 1992 with 'Deewana', the actor rose to fame.

Currently, Shah Rukh Khan is shooting for ‘Dunki’ in Kashmir and a clip from the location has surfaced online. The video clip features Taapsee Pannu and Shah Rukh Khan in an outdoor setting as they are surrounded by snow and various shops. The National Film Awards-winning director Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan work together for the first time on the movie.
