New Delhi: The Coronavirus pandemic has affected the functioning of the entertainment industry in India. The shoots for all films, TV shows and ads have been halted due to the lockdown in the country. GECs are running the repeat telecasts of their shows to attract the viewers amid the crucial times. ‘Ramayan’ and ‘Mahabharat’ are grabbing several eyeballs on Doordarshan.

Amid the COVID-19 lockdown, Sony TV has decided to axe ‘Beyhadh 2’, ‘Patiala Babes’ and ‘Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein’. The three shows won’t return to the small screen after the lockdown ends.

Speculations were also rife that Zee TV’s ‘Dil Yeh Ziddi Hai’ will also face the axe. However, the production house has refuted all the rumours, calling them baseless and untrue.

“Dil Yeh Ziddi Hai will come back on air with a refreshing take, we look forward to treating our audiences with a great story going forward,” a source associated with Manor Rama Pictures told ABP News’ correspondent Ravi Jain.

‘Dil Yeh Ziddi Hai’ stars ‘Bigg Boss 12’ contestant Rohit Suchanti and Megha Ray in lead roles. The show was launched last year in November at 7:30pm slot.

The story of the show focuses on Kajal Vyas, who suffers from a disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa.
