New Delhi: Late television actor Pratyusha Banerjee's father, Shankar Banerjee, has reacted to the news of Tunisha Sharma's demise. He said he was heartbroken to hear about the suicide and claimed that, as a parent, he could relate to Tunisha's mother, Vanita Sharma.

In an interview with Aaj Tak, Pratyusha Banerjee's father lamented Tunisha's death and said,“When I read the news about Tunisha, I felt very sad. Suddenly my old wounds became fresh. Being a father, I can understand the condition of Tunisha's mother right now.”

Banerjee continued by saying that he believes Tunisha's death was a murder.

“To be honest, as much as I can understand Tunisha's death, it seems like murder to me. In the last few years, all murders are being given the form of suicide. Something similar happened with Sushant Singh Rajput. When I was talking to my wife, both of us were crying that again a mother has lost her innocent 20-year-old daughter. Her grief seems like our own," he said.

“If someone commits suicide intentionally, he makes sure that he leaves behind a note or letter so that other people do not suffer. This is a 100 percent murder case,” Shankar Banerjee added.

Pratyusha Banerjee, known for her role in 'Balika Vadhu', hung herself on April 1, 2016, in her apartment.

On the sets of her tv show 'Ali Baba Dastaan-E-Kabul', Tunisha, 20, was found dead on December 24. Sheezan Khan, her co-star and ex-boyfriend, has been taken into custody on allegations that he abetted in the suicide in question.

A heated argument between Tunish and Sheezan Khan took place before the former's death, according to information from Waliv Police. Police told news agency ANI that they had found CCTV footage from the incident as well.
