Rashmi Sharma’s recently launched 'Colors' show 'Roop-Mard Ka Naya Swaroop', featuring Affan Khan, Yash Tonk and Mitali Nag in prominent roles, is all set for a time leap. The makers were in talks with various known names like Shashank Vyas, Shivin Narang and Shardul Pandit to play the grown-up 'Roop'. Reportedly, Shashank Vyas has finally bagged the role & is set to be back on 'Colors' after 'Balika Vadhu'. Now according to latest reports, the makers have also finalized the female lead & its none other than 'Ek Deewana Tha' actress Donal Bisht.

The actress is very exciting to & feels herself lucky after bagging the lead role.

She also spoke about her role to IANS & said that, "I will play Ishika who is a strong, lives in the modern era with modern thinking and with an attitude that a girl can also be an earning member of the house. I totally resonate with the character as I have been self independent from the start."

She further added that, "The show's concept is very unique and will break the stereotype of the current running shows on Indian television where the girl is a mere household help. We live in the 21st century and my producer Rashmi Sharma has brought this concept to light beautifully."

TV actress Donal Bisht DATING Prateek Shah?

The show currently revolves around the conventional ideas of masculinity through its eight-year-old protagonist. But after leap, there will be a change in the concept & Roop will be seen as a ghar jamai. This was because no actor was ready to play an effeminate character. But now, the storyline will be loosely based on the lines of the Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor-starrer, 'Ki & Ka'.

On the career front, Donal made her TV debut with a supporting role in 'Star Plus' show 'Airlines'. After which she played the parallel lead in in Ekta Kapoor's 'Kalash - Ek Vishwaas'. Donal shot to fame after playing the lead role in Sony TV's popular show 'Ek Deewaana Tha' co-starring Vikram Singh Chauhan and Namik Paul. 'Ek Deewaana Tha' recently went off-air & Donal has already bagged 'Roop'.
