New Delhi: Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ has managed to keep the viewers hooked on to their TV sets with its drama-packed episodes. Popular TV stars Sriti Jha and Shabir Ahluwalia play the respective roles of Pragya and Abhishek in the hit show. The new episodes of ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ have started airing on Zee TV from July 13. The makers are taking all precautions to ensure the safety of cast and crew.

Ardent fans of ‘KKB’ are quite excited after seeing their favourite characters back on the TV screens after three months of lockdown. We had earlier informed you that Naina Singh has quit ‘Kumkum Bhagya’. The actress, who played the role of Rhea, was apparently unhappy with her character development.

Speculations were rife that ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2’ actress Pooja Banerjee would replace Naina Singh as Rhea in ‘Kumkum Bhagya’.

Pooja, while talking to a leading daily, has confirmed that she would step into Naina’s shoes and play the new Rhea.

The Bengali beauty, who is seen as Nivedita in Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan starrer ‘Kasautii 2’, will have to juggle between two shows. Interestingly, both ‘KZK 2’ and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ are produced by Ekta Kapoor.

“I was apprehensive initially, but fortunately, the sets of both the shows are located next to each other and I don’t have to travel at all. Even my make-up artist and room will continue to be the same. It will be mainly about changing the costumes. So, I don’t have to take extra precautions,” Pooja told Times Of India.

This will be the second major replacement in ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ as Shikha Singh has also been replaced. The makers have roped in Rehyna Malhotra to play the new Aaliya.

Shikha, while talking to a daily, said that she was not informed about her replacement. The new mommy added that she was hoping to return to the sets by January 2021.
