New Delhi: Actor and comedian Krushna Abhishek recently shared insights into his television journey and shed light on the financial aspects of his comedy career. Speaking on Bharti Singh's podcast, Bharti TV, Abhishek disclosed his journey of entering the comedy space on television.
During the podcast interview, Abhishek spoke about Comedy Circus, the comedy show that made him famous on television. He said that the makers were interested in him as he was Govinda’s nephew.
“I signed Comedy Circus only for money. I was very happy with it. They were giving me Rs 1.5 lakh per episode. They gave me a lot of respect because I was Govinda’s nephew. I was so in awe of the fact that I would be making Rs 3 lakh per day."
Krushna paired with Sudesh Lehri for Comedy Circus and they won four seasons of the show.
Abhishek also shared that he was doing Bhojpuri films during those days. “At that time, I was doing Bhojpuri films, and I would get paid Rs 3 lakh per film. I would shoot for 30 days, day and night, and then make that much money."
Expressing pride in his work within the Bhojpuri film industry, he shared an anecdote about a film where he struggled to understand many scenes, yet the movie turned out to be a box office superhit.
Krushna was last seen as Sapna Didi on Kapil’s show on Sony TV.
He is set to appear in 'The Great Indian Kapil Show' on Netflix. The logline for the new show reads, ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show is a variety chat show set in the bustling confines of an airport and features prominent celebrity guests every week.' Notably, the show marks a reunion of Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, with Archana Puran Singh, Kiku Sharda, Rajiv Thakur, and Krushna Abhishek also being part of the star-studded cast.
