Popular TV actor Ashish Sharma, who is currently seen playing lead role in Sony TV's 'Prithvi Vallabh', was recently in the news for a fake lip-lock scene with co-star Sonarika Bhadoria. The show will soon bid adieu & Ashish Sharma has already announced his next project. The actor who has already done a few small role in films is all set to debut as a lead in a film titled 'Khejdi'. Another interesting thing is that Ashish will be seen playing the role of a transgender in 'Khejdi'.

Yes, you read that right!

The actor confirmed the news to an entertainment portal and said, “I won’t be able to tell you much about the character. But yeah, I’m playing the titular character. I’m Khejdi.”

On being asked if he was sceptical about playing a transgender on-screen? The 'Siya Ke Ram' actor further told Tellychakkar that, “I was not sceptical at all. That’s not my criteria to look for work. Right now I’m in a space where I want to enjoy my work. Now I want the world to see the kind of work I want to be part of and how well I can pull them off. I want to part of stories and projects like these.”

The 33-year-old actor  is trying to tell one such truth everyone shuns transgenders and their rightful place in the society through his film "Khejdi". The movie questions the idea of individual identity as a transgender person goes on a journey of self-discovery. The actor has already completed the film's shooting.

Another good news is that Ashish & Archana's maiden project 'Khejdi' has been selected  for being premiered at KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival 2018. Archana recently shared the news with fans on her Instagram account & wrote, "Hi We are extremely happy to share with you that our first movie venture ‘KHEJDI’ is being premiered at KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival 2018..."
