KBC 16: The latest season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) is being loved by the viewers like all its previous seasons, despite none of the contestants securing the grand prize yet. In the latest episode, the legendary host Amitabh Bachchan was moved to tears upon hearing the story of a contestant's struggle with a severe illness. The veteran actor also extended his support to Rajasthan native Nareshi Meena, who is facing a life-threatening condition.
Contestant's story makes Amitabh Bachchan emotional
Nareshi Meena, a 27-year-old woman from Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, shared her heartbreaking story with Big B. She revealed that she was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2018 and had to undergo surgery in 2019. Unfortunately, due to the tumor's location, the doctors could not remove it entirely. Her family has already made significant sacrifices for her treatment, with her mother selling all her jewelry to fund the operation. Now, Nareshi has come to KBC in hopes of winning the prize money to cover the costs of her ongoing treatment.
Nareshi needs money for Proton Therapy
Nareshi explained that she has been advised to undergo Proton Therapy, a cutting-edge and costly treatment that could potentially save her life. The therapy is estimated to cost between Rs 25 to 30 lakhs, a sum that is far beyond her family’s means.
Amitabh Bachchan, visibly moved by her plight, made a heartfelt promise to Nareshi. "Mujhe aapka sahayak banna hai (I want to support you)," he said, assuring her that whatever amount she wins on the show will be hers to keep. He added, "Be rest assured about your treatment."
Big B offers support
Praising Nareshi’s bravery, Amitabh Bachchan expressed his admiration for her strength in speaking about her condition publicly. "Badi himmat honi chahiye ek mahila mein, sarvajanik roop se yeh baat karna. Aapke dhairya ke liye aapko bohot bohot dhanyawaad karte hai. (A woman needs a great deal of courage to publicly speak about this. I salute your spirit)," he said. He also acknowledged her positive attitude, saying, "I have realised that you are sure that you will win the amount, and you are quite positive about the treatment. Now, don’t worry about the medical expense."
As of the latest episode, Nareshi remains in the hot seat, having won Rs 3.2 lakh so far. She will continue her journey on Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 in the upcoming episode, where she will attempt to answer the Rs 1 crore question, as seen in the latest promos.
