Mumbai: Popular TV actress Sanjeeda Sheikh, who is making a comeback to daily soap after two years with the role of a mother on "Ishq Ka Rang Safed", says she has no inhibition in playing a parent to a five-year-old kid.

The 31-year-old actress is replacing lead Eisha Singh on the Colors show, which is taking a leap of five years. "It all depends on the way you look when you play a mother. Now, actresses like Kareena (Kapoor Khan) and Jacqueline (Fernandez) play mother onscreen and nobody questions them. Earlier, I had a fear to play a mother but at this stage of my career I am pretty much confident," Sanjeeda told PTI.

Sanjeeda will give a new lease of life to Dhaani's character, which used to be introvert and non-opinionated. "I had seen the promos of the shows initially when it was coming on air and I thought it would really connect with the audience because the concept was very strong.

"I think this is the right time for me to return to daily soap. I have just started shooting. The channel is amazing. It's the best channel to work with. The character, which I am portraying, is very strong. It's actually a departure of Dhaani's shy self," she said.

The actress, who was last seen in "Power Couple" with husband Aamir Ali, said she enjoys doing daily soaps over reality shows.

"I think the audience expect me to be on saas-bahu dramas such shows attract me also. I keep a track on everything that is happening on TV."

Asked if it's challenging to have your spouse in the same profession, Sanjeeda said, "It is good to have your partner in the same profession because the understanding is great. Me and Aamir are like friends. We understand each other so well and it's easier I think as we have same profession."
