Top-rated 'Star Plus' show 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' went on-air in January 2009 with Hina Khan & Karan Mehra in lead roles. Later, Shivangi Joshi-Mohsin Khan aka Naira-Kartik took over as new leads & their pairing was loved by the viewers. 'Yesh Rishta...' is still one of the most successful TV shows currently & the makers are set to introduce another twist in the 'Star Plus' show. As shown in the latest promo, the character of 'Gayu' will come back in Kartik & Naira's life. Ever since the promo got released, the fans of actress Kanchi Singh (who played the role of Gayatri earlier) assumed that she is coming back in 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'. And now, the actress has opened-up about the same.

Kanchi has revealed that she is not returning to the much-loved 'Star Plus' show. Yes, you read that right!

Speaking about the same, Kanchi told an entertainment portal that, "No, I am not re-entering the show. Not even thought of being a part of it, again! I got to know 2 -3 days back that the makers are getting back Gayu when fans started messaging me on my social media. But I just want to say that the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai chapter is over for me and I have moved on."

Hmm...now it'll interesting to see who will be the new 'Gayu' in 'Yeh Rishta...'!

Speaking about the actress who'll play the role of 'Gayu' in 'Yeh Rishta...', a source told SpotboyE that, nobody has been finalised yet but it is most likely going to be a fresh face.

Kanchi made her TV debut as a child artist in TV show 'Kutumb'. Her first show as a lead was the ZEE TV show 'Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya' opposite Mishkat Verma in which she played the role of 'Avni'. Then, she was loved for her portrayal of 'Gayu' in 'Yeh Rishta...' but she later quit the show as she was not satisfied with the growth of her character. Ever since then, she is on a break and her fans are waiting for her TV comeback.
