Ever since ‘Silsila-Badalte Rishton Ka’ went on-air in June on Colors TV, the show has managed to remain in headlines for some reason. The show received a lot of flak on social media when the makers showed a lovemaking scene between Kunal (Shakti Arora) and Nandini (Drashti Dhami). Drashti broke several hearts when she announced her exit from the show. Her sudden exit came as a shocker to the fans as she was an intregal part of the show.

Speculations were rife that the ‘Madhubala’ actress quit the show because of the hatred she received by fans on social media. Fans were not happy with Nandini acting as homewrecker between happily married couple Kunal and Mauli. However, it seems Drashti was not willing to play a mother on-screen and hence she bid adieu to the show, if a recent report is to go by.

‘Silsila-Badalte Rishton Ka’ producer Sunjoy Wadhwa, while talking to an entertainment portal said that the ‘Geet’ actress was not comfortable essaying a mother in the show. The post-leap track of the show required Nandini and Mauli to play mothers and Drashti was not okay with it.

"She was not comfortable playing a mother in the show, which will now soon have babies," Wadhwa told SpotboyE.

For the uninitiated, Drashti had also left her show ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’ in 2016 for the very same reason. She was not ready to play a mother that time. Interestingly, the show was produced by Sphere Origins, the same production house producing ‘Silsila’.

Sunjoy Wadhwa made it clear that trolling by fans had no part to play in Drashti’s exit.

"I think it was soon clear after 7-8 days into the show that an extra-marital affair between Nandini and Kunal was on the cards. Drashti had problems neither with that nor with the way the social media reacted (Read, erupted) after that. Also if you see carefully, we have never tried to say in the show who is right and who is wrong, let the viewer decide and we have no problem with that. And, reactions on social media spring up for almost every show don't they?,’’ Wadhwa told the portal.

The ace producer also said that he will approach Drashti for a new project if he wants to cast her.

‘’There is no problem here that Drashti is not doing the show any further. If I have a role in future where I want to cast Drashti, I will go to only her and nobody else. She is a very good actress, no doubt. And, we had a fantastic working relationship- not just in Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani but Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka too," the ‘Balika Vadhu’ producer further told the portal.

After Drashti Dhami, Abhinav Shukla, who played the role of her on-screen husband Rajdeep, has also left the show. The ‘Diya Baati Aur Hum’ actor informed the fans about his decision on Instagram.
