Actor Zaan Khan, who was last seen in Humari Bahu Silk, recently revealed that the cast and crew of the show had not been paid till now, even though the show went off air months back. He has also revealed that his co-star from the show, Chahta Pandey had attempted suicide!
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Zaan said, “Chahat had actually attempted to commit suicide, but it was her mother who came to her rescue. Her mother stopped her from taking the drastic step. She has struggled a lot to be an actress, this money means a lot to her. It is the first time that she has earned such a big amount, but to her sheer bad luck, she is deprived of this also. She is the sole earning member in her family, her father is no more, and she has two small brothers and a mother to look after.”
He went on and also added that he has received numerous calls from the crew, seeking help. “We all have put in our hearts and souls during those 8 months of shooting, setting dada, spot dada, and others' are crying and pleading on calls just to get their own money back.”But the producers do not seem to care. He said that initially, they were all calm, but later, the attitude of the producers changed. He said, “'They used to give us false hopes that they will be repaid in a month, and it went on and on. At first, we all kept our calm, but they started threatening us with 'Do whatever you can,' we understood their actual intentions. It is then that our patience broke and we started pressurizing them for giving us our hard-earned money. We have decided to take the legal route, we are just waiting for the lockdown to end to file a criminal suit against these fraudsters.”
Humari Bahu Silk aired on ZeeTV last year and was pulled off air in just five months.
