The 'Kabir Singh' actor Shahid Kapoor celebrates his 38th Birthday today i.e. 25th February and on this occasion his step father Rajesh Khatter takes to Instagram to send his special wishes across to his step son with an adorable throwback picture from Shahid's childhood and a message. Rajesh is the second husband of Shahid's mom Neelima Azim and the father of Shahid's half-brother Ishaan Khatter.

Rajesh shared the unseen picture in which Shahid as a young boy is seen piggy backing on his step-dad. Rajesh put another picture from recent years with grown up bearded Shahid on the side and wrote a long note praising Shahid for his brilliant acting career. It read- "From being a good looking teenager to the most good looking young man. From being the most promising newcomer to an award winning mega star, from being a loving husband to a doting father,ur journey has been nothing short of inspirational. Shahid's mom Neelima had married Rajesh Khatter after parting ways from 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' actor's father Pankaj Kapur and then got divorced from Rajesh in 2001. Rajesh is currently married to Vandana Sajnani.


Shahid and Ishaan have grown up together with their mom Neelima and father Rajesh until their divorce in 2001. While we have seen the doting big brother's beautiful chemistry with his little bro and 'Dhadak' actor Ishaan, Shahid also shares a close bond with step-dad Rajesh.

However Rajesh was miffed with media a few years ago when Ishaan was being referred to as 'Ishaan Kapur' in some reports. "I am extremely frustrated with my son Ishaan Khattar being referred to as Kapur time and again in the media. I am anguished and feel helpless,” says Rajesh. “I sincerely wish that the press verifies facts before stating them. I wish to convey to everybody that, yes, Ishaan is Shahid’s brother, but not a Kapur for God’s sake! Neither is he Pankaj Kapur’s and Supriya Pathak’s son, so stop referring to him as one!" -He had said talking to TOI in 2007.

While his son Ishaan made debut with Majid Majidi's 'Beyond The Clouds' and then did 'Dhadak' opposite Janhvi Kapoor, the daddy was always by his side and often made appearances at film promotions along with ex-wife Neelima.

Rajesh Khatter was recently seen in Colors Tv's popular show 'Bepannaah' in which he played lead actor Harshad Chopda aka 'Aditya Hooda's father 'Harshvardhan Hooda'. The show featured Jennifer Winget in the lead antagonist and female lead opposite Harshad as 'Zoya Siddiqui'.

Rajesh also did Sony TV's 'Beyhadh' with Jennifer before this, playing her evil father. Apart from regularly appearing on small screen, Rajesh, a fantastic actor, has also done multiple Bollywood films like 'Don 2'(played Singhania), 'Khiladi 786', 'Race 2', 'Sooryavansham' and more.
