New Delhi: The Coronavirus pandemic has brought the world to standstill, forcing to people to stay locked inside their houses. To combat the further spread of COVID-19, PM Narendra Modi imposed a 21-day nationwide lockdown. Several CMs have suggested PM Modi to extend the lockdown as the number of Coronavirus positives cases is increasing with every passing day. The death toll due to the deadly virus stands at 242, according to the Union Health Ministry.


TV actor Tanmay Vekaria’s building in Mumbai has been sealed after three residents and one vegetable vendor tested positive for COVID-19. The talented actor plays the role of Baagha in hit Sony SAB’s show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’. He lives in Raj Arcade at Kandivali West, Mumbai.

Tanmay, while talking to an entertainment portal, said that he has decided to go under self-quarantine for 14 days. He also said that he is scared as the vegetable vendor he has been buying grocery from has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.



“I am very scared because the vegetable vendor has tested positive for Covid-19. The vegetable vendor has been tested positive today. Though, I was not in direct touch with him, but as a responsible person, I have decided to go in self-quarantine for next 14 days. I had taken care of everything, when the last time I stepped out to get those vegetables after returning I had taken a bath and washed all the vegetables. But I don’t want to risk my family,” the actor told E Times TV.



Tanmay further said that people in the society are taking proper precautionary measures to keep the virus at bay. He added, "We have made groups on Whatsapp and we keep updating each other about the necessary requirements. All the families get five minutes to collect milk and vegetables from the security so that we maintain social distance. I have stored all the basic medicines."
