New Delhi: The grand finale of the sixth season of 'Bigg Boss 6' was held on January 22. The finale saw many performances by the contestants and the show ended with Azeem lifting the trophy. Vikraman and Shivin Ganesan grabbed the second and third spots respectively. Azeem won Rs 50 lakh in cash and a brand-new Maruti Suzuki car.
The show, hosted by actor Kamal Haasan, was a big hit. During the grand finale, Vijay Television's business head, Mr Krishnan Kutty, revealed that over 30 million people watched the reality show.
Kamal Haasan praised the finalists and said that they all were the winners. Out of the three finalists, Azeem and Vikraman received the most nominations for eviction.
Shivin, the second runner-up, is the first trans person on the show to move up to the runner-up position of Bigg Boss.
The show started with 21 contestants and was one of the most controversial seasons of Bigg Boss Tamil with fights starting from its first week itself. During the show, Azeem was criticised for his transphobic behaviour towards Shivin. Host Kamal Haasan had also reprimanded him during the weekend episode.
Mid-season there were rumours that Kamal Haasan will quit the show after season six but the actor after announcing the winner in the grand finale, the actor bid goodye at the end saying, 'Until we meet again, Ungal Naan (I'm yours).' This has raised hopes among the actor’s fans that he will return for the next season.
The seventh season of the show will take place later this year.
