New Delhi: 'Bigg Boss 16' contestant Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia’s mother is upset with former Bigg Boss contestant VJ Andy’s comment on her daughter. Andy makes reviews and parody videos of the reality show and in one of the videos, he called Nimrit ‘Roti Sardarni’ as she has cried in the show quite a number of times.
In a conversation with ETimes, Nimrit's mother said that by mocking the word ‘Sardarni’, he is targeting the entire Sikh community.
"Andy has always expressed his views about the contestants of Bigg Boss. Every year he does that, he has been a former contestant also. I always felt that he is someone who has a very progressive thinking who doesn't believe in body-shaming, trolling someone for being insensitive. But what he is doing now is not comedy, I am sorry to say that in the pretext of doing comedy he’s hitting below the belt," she was quoted as saying by ETimes.
"He is body shaming someone, taking a dig at someone’s career choices. The very fact that he has picked up Nimrit’s show’s name is in a very bad taste. It is one of the popular shows of the channel and successfully ran for a long time and Nimrit was proudly associated with it. The way he is mocking the word ‘Sardarni’ is targeting the entire Sikh community," she added.
Apart from Nimrit’s mother, many fans were also not happy with Andy’s parody. One of the users has also threatened to file a case against him for misusing the word 'Sardarni'.
Nimrit was the protagonist of Star Plus’ popular show ‘Choti Sardarni.’
Andy is quite active and vocal on social media about his opinion on ‘Bigg Boss 16’. He has also been calling out the makers’ ‘partiality’ towards certain participants including Nimrit. He has been supporting Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, who has been at loggerheads with Nimrit in this season.
