New Delhi: On Monday’s episode of ‘Bigg Boss 16’ Sumbul Touqeer Khan spoke with her father Touqeer Hasan Khan over the phone after the Weekend Ka Vaar that was very heavy for Sumbul. On the call, he spoke demeaningly about Tina Datta and Shalin Bhanot and even abused Tina on national television. He also said that she should show both Tina and Shalin their place.
Now Tina’s mother has posted a video on the actress’ Instagram profile where she has asked if it is right to abuse her daughter. She also raised the objection to the fact that Sumbul was allowed to speak to her father for the second time on the show which is an unfair advantage.
Tina’s mother appealed to the audience and asked if it was right for someone to abuse and demean her daughter on a national platform. She went on to ask if giving such advice of showing someone their 'aukat' is a parent's duty. She said, “Since I didn’t get a chance like other contestants’ parents to speak to my child, that is why I want to talk to you today. To abuse my daughter on national television and her dad has said to kick off her face – what kind of language is this? Who gave him the right to say such things? Who are you to abuse my daughter? If your daughter is going wrong, does it mean that you will abuse my daughter? Is it parents’ work? I want all of you to think how bad I would be feeling. Such ill things are being spoken about my daughter.”
Earlier Shalin Bhanot’s father also spoke to IANS about the same. "Is this the way people speak on national television? Making unjustified offensive comments on national television, against other participants is very, very cheap! And it's more shocking that these comments and abuses were not edited out and rather shown. Sumbul is an adult, either you shouldn't have sent her on the show and if you have then no outside guidance should be allowed as per the format. This is unacceptable," he told IANS.
Many ex-contestants also called out Bigg Boss for the phone call as it gives an unfair advantage to Sumbul. Her father was also criticised for the kind of words he used for the other contestants.
On Weekend Ka Vaar, Salman Khan said that Sumbul is ‘obsessed’ with Shalin as she behaved erratically when he got into a fight with MC Stan and Shiv Thakare. Many other contestants, including Teena Datta and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, agreed to it. Sumbul, on the other hand, kept on saying that she doesn’t have feelings for Shalin.
