New Delhi: TV actress Vidisha Srivastava, who plays Anita bhabhi on ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai,’ has said that she loves it when fans refer to her by her character’s name. She called her role very realistic as she relates to her on-screen character. She finds it the biggest compliment as an actor to get recognised for their role.

Talking to IANS, Vidisha said, "People on social media and friend circles have started addressing me by my character's name. A recent incident made me emotional. I was in my hometown, Varanasi, during Maha Shivratri. In the lanes where I have spent my childhood, people kept asking me 'Anita Bhabhi, kaisi hain aap?'

She then went on to describe how she and her character, Anita bhabhi, are both strong, independent women who aren't afraid to speak out when they see wrongdoing. She said, "Anita is a strong and independent woman who believes in standing up for what is right and pointing out the wrong. She is beautiful, classy, and intelligent. I can completely relate to her. My style statement is like hers, simple, elegant, and graceful. Like Anita, I also love wearing sarees, heels, and accessories".

She also said that the role of ‘Anita Bhabi’ allows her to display her acting skills.

The part of Anita Bhabhi in ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai’ has been played by three different actresses. This part was first played by Saumya Tandon when the series premiered in 2015. She left the programme in 2020 and was replaced by Nehha Pendse. After two years on the programme as Anita, Neha decided to quit the role in 2022. At last, Vidisha was chosen for the role.

The sitcom has consistently entertained viewers with the antics of its main characters and the performances of Aasif Sheikh, Rohitash Gaud, Shubhangi Atre, and Vidisha Srivastava.
