New Delhi: After 19 years of marriage, Shubhangi Atre has split up with her spouse Piyush Poorey. A month had passed since the couple had parted ways. The two eventually decided to separate ways so they could focus on their happiness and jobs because they thought they couldn't resolve their issues.

'Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai' actor Shubhangi, who portrays Angoori Bhabhi, spoke to Etimes and said,“It’s been almost a year since we are not living together. Piyush and I tried our best to save our marriage. Mutual respect, companionship, trust, and friendship are the foundation of a strong marriage. However, we eventually realised that we couldn’t resolve our differences and decided to give each other space and concentrate on our individual lives and careers.”

Aside from that, the television actor stated that making this choice wasn't simple. “It’s still difficult. My family is my top priority, and all of us want our families around us. But some damages are beyond repair. When a relationship of so many years breaks, it’s bound to affect you mentally and emotionally. I was also affected, but we had to take this step, and I have come to terms with it. Mental stability is paramount. I have always believed that adversities teach you a lesson,” she told the publication.

“She deserved love from both her mother and father. Piyush comes on Sundays to meet her. I don’t want her to be deprived of her father’s love,” she added.

With 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', Shubhangi Atre began her television career in 2006. She has since appeared in series like 'Kasturi' and 'Chidiya Ghar'. In the well-known sitcom 'Chidiya Ghar', Atre took Shilpa Shinde's role in 2013. Interestingly, she unexpectedly took over as Angoori Tiwari in 'Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain' also three years later, in April 2016.

In their hometown of Indore, Shubhangi and Piyush, who works in digital marketing, got married in 2003. Two years later, they were blessed with a daughter.
