New Delhi: Ashneer Grover, the former BharatPe co-founder, who will not be serving as a judge on 'Shark Tank India's forthcoming second season, spoke out in response to the decision.
Following his appearance on the reality show's debut season, which quickly became a huge hit in the latter half of last year, the entrepreneur and television personality gained widespread fame. The new trailer for the upcoming season, however, excluded Grover from the lineup of judges.
Ashneer was questioned about why he won't be a part of season two of Shark Tank India in a recent interview with Red FM while promoting his new autobiography 'Doglapan'. The former 'Shark Tank India' judge said that the show's producers couldn't "afford" him. “Afford sirf paise se nahi hota, aukaad se hota hai,” he said.
Ashneer Grover was thereafter questioned about whether he had ever been contacted to appear on the reality series Bigg Boss. He confirmed that he had been approached, but he won't ever go on the show. “Failed individuals go on that show, not successful people… There was a time when I used to watch the show, but I feel it’s become stale now. They approached me, I said sorry, not happening,” he said.
Ashneer added that he might think again if he receives a higher offer than the host Salman Khan.
Following allegations of serious governance failures under him, the fintech behemoth BharatPe had stripped Grover of all titles and positions last year.
Meanwhile, Amit Jain, co-founder and CEO of the popular website CarDekho, has been added to 'Shark Tank 2', while the rest of the lineup is still the same.
