New Delhi: In a major development in late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s case, the Centre accepted Bihar government’s request to order a CBI probe into the case. Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government had recommended a CBI enquiry into Sushant’s case after the ‘Dil Bechara’ actor’s family demanded the same. SSR’s former girlfriend Ankita Lokhande took to social media to express gratitude.

Ankita, who was in a relationship with Sushant for seven years, is happy about the Centre agreeing for a CBI probe into the matter. The ‘Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi’ actress wrote, “The moment we’ve waited for has finally arrived.”



TV actors including Dalljiet Kaur and Nandish Sandhu dropped comments on the post. 'Bigg Boss 13' contestant Dalljiet wrote, "Yes love. It’s just a start. Truth has to prevail. SATYAMEV JAYATE !"

Ankita, in an exclusive interview with ABP News, said that Sushant could never commit suicide. She said, "Sushant was an over-dedicated person. He used to write down his dreams in a diary. He had written all his dreams in his personal diary and to our wonder, he achieved all of it within five years. He was not so weak to commit suicide. I am sure something big was happening in his life which we don't know."

Ankita and Sushant became household names after playing the respective roles of Archana and Manav in 'Pavitra Rishta'. Their break-up in 2016 grabbed a lot of eyeballs as they were considered one of the most loved couples in tinsel town.

The 'Baaghi 3' actress had posted a cryptic post on social media after Sushant's father filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty under various sections of the IPC. She wrote, "Truth Wins."

When ABP News asked Ankita about the post, she said, "Of course, the post was for Sushant. I believe truth always wins and people, who speak the truth, win. If Papa has filed an FIR, then he must have thought something. I am not a judge but I can stand with my family. We want to know what happened with Sushant."



Sushant's sister Shweta Singh Kirti also expressed gratitude and hailed. Centre's decision to allow CBI probe in her brother's case. She wrote, "CBI It Is!! #RakshabandhanGift #justiceforsushantsinghrajput #cbienquiryforsushant @sushantsinghrajput." Check out her post!



On Wednesday (August 5), Solicitor General Tushar Mehta stated before the Supreme Court that the Union of India has in principle accepted the recommendation by Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government to order a CBI probe into Sushant Singh Rajput’s case.
