Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt was interrogated by the Mumbai Police earlier today regarding the death investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput. Before him, many other celebrities from the film industry had been summoned by the police. The list includes Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Chopra, Rhea Chakraborty, Mukesh Chhabra and others. According to reports, Mahesh Bhatt has been summoned by the Mumbai Police for more than 2 hours. However, when enquired about the director offering a film to the late actor, the former refused of any such incident.

The ‘Arth’ director while recording his statement, told the cops that Sushant Singh was not offered any role in his upcoming movie ‘Sadak 2’. Rather, the ‘Dil Bechara’ actor asked Mahesh Bhatt to sign him for any role in the movie. He revealed that Rajput has always expressed his interest in working with him and from the director’s part, there was no discussion of signing him or Rhea in ‘Sadak 2’.

Bhatt also disclosed how he met the late actor. He revealed that they met only twice, once was back in 2018 and the other was recently in 2020. The first time, Sushant showed up to meet the director. Reportedly, the director went to meet him the second time when he was keeping unwell in his Bandra apartment. The ‘Sadak’ director revealed that both of them talked about his Youtube channel, books written by Mahesh Bhatt and other literary stuff. There was no work-related or personal life discussion between the two.

The filmmaker shed light on the fact that ‘Sadak 2’ was always supposed to be made with Sanjay Dutt in the lead role as it is a sequel to ‘Sadak’. The movie was released in 1991 which starred Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in the lead roles.

While, on the other hand, reportedly, Apoorva Mehta, who is the CEO of ‘Dharma Productions’ might record his statement on Tuesday morning.

Kangana Ranaut was also summoned by the Mumbai Police but as she is in her hometown currently, she has requested the police to send someone to record her statement.
