Among them, acclaimed filmmaker Sudhir Mishra praised Anubhav Sinha's directorial by saying that years from now, his work's importance will be understood. Taapsee Pannu also praised Ayushmann's film.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Sudhir shared Anek's review from a leading publication and wrote, "I’ve said this before.Years later people will realize the impact of Anubhav Sinha’s films . Here is a filmmaker at the top of his game who has the ability simultaneously to punch you in the gut and caress your mind."

Sudhir has himself directed many acclaimed films. His best known work 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi' is a cult favourite film that many believe represented the political climate of India during the 80s emergency in the best manner possible.

Anubhav Sinha, on the other hand, has been on a spree of churning out films that have important socio-political messages without blatantly preaching them. His other known films include 'Thappad', 'Article 15', and 'Mulk'.

Ayushmann Khurrana who plays the lead in 'Anek' has earlier worked with Anubhav Sinha on 'Article 15'.

'Anek' also marks the trio- Ayushmann, Manoj Pahwa and Kumud Mishra's second collaboration with Anubhav Sinha after 'Article 15'.
