The Telugu film industry has been rocked by allegations of sexual assault against renowned choreographer Jani Master, formally known as Shaik Jani Basha. A 21-year-old female choreographer, who had been working with Jani for the past few months, has accused him of multiple instances of sexual assault.
Sexual Assault charges against Telugu choreographer Jani Master
According to reports, an FIR has been registered against him under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC.
The woman filed her complaint with Raidurgam police in Hyderabad, alleging that Jani assaulted her during outdoor shoots in various cities, including Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. She also claimed that he assaulted her multiple times at her residence in Narsingi. The case has since been transferred to Narsingi police for further investigation.
The complainant revealed that the incidents occurred in 2019, but she remained silent due to threats from Jani Master, who allegedly warned her about being blacklisted from the industry. She also mentioned being intimidated by his associates.
Shikha Goel, Director General of the Women Safety Wing (WSW) Telangana, confirmed that members of the film industry had reached out to her for guidance. She advised them to initiate an internal inquiry under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act and to file a formal case with the law enforcement authorities, as the allegations involved criminal charges.
This is not the first time Jani Master has faced legal trouble. Earlier this year, a dancer named Satish filed a harassment case against him.

Jani Master, known for choreographing songs for stars like Allu Arjun, Salman Khan, and Jr NTR, has not yet responded to the allegations. He has worked on popular songs such as 'Aayi Nai' from 'Stree 2' and 'Arabic Kuthu from 'Beast'.
