New Delhi: Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda’s successful Telugu film ‘Geetha Govindam’, completes five years to its release today. The actors expressed gratitude for all the love and support the audiences extended for the film. The cast and director of 'Geetha Govindam' got together on the 15th of August to mark the film's fifth anniversary.
Vijay uploaded photos of himself with Rashmika and Parasuram on his Instagram account. They all show five fingers to signify the five years of the movie's release. Vijay noted the importance of the occasion, noting that the film's first release coincided with Independence Day. He also shared his enthusiasm for going to the 'Kushi' event and wished his fans and fellow Indians a happy Independence Day.
Rashmika also posted the same pictures as Vijay. While expressing her gratitude, Rashmika wrote, “Always extremely grateful.” She also wished her followers a happy 77th Independence Day.
The sight of Vijay and Rashmika in the same photo thrilled their army of devoted followers. There are rumours that Vijay and Rashmika have been dating for a few years, but neither one of them has said anything about it.
Since its release in 2018, ‘Geetha Govindam’ has been credited with helping to launch the careers of Bollywood actors Vijay and Rashmika. The picture was a romantic comedy, a subgenre that has had declining box office returns in recent years.
Helmed by Parasuram, the movie was a commercial hit. It also helped Rashmika carve a niche for herself in the Telugu markets. The song ‘Inkem Inkem Inkem Kaavaale’ from the film was a chartbuster.
On the work front, Rashmika will be next seen in the much-awaited 'Animal', opposite Ranbir Kapoor. She also has 'Pushpa 2', 'Rainbow' and 'D51' opposite Dhanush in the pipeline. Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha are out promoting their next flick, 'Kushi', which is set to release on September 1.
