New Delhi: Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela are set to become parents for the first time, and as they get ready, the couple will return to living with Ram's parents. Upasana stated in a recent interview that while many couples choose to leave their parents' homes after having children, they are actually choosing to do "just the opposite." Upasana revealed that although they currently live alone, they wish to return to his parents' home so that their child can grow up with grandparents.
During an interview with Times Of India, Upasana said, "We both were brought up in a setup where our grandparents played a huge role in our upbringing. We don’t want to deprive our child of that joy.” She mentioned that this was a “conscious call” as they want to “raise the child together” with Ram’s parents. She added, “Also, we both are working professionals and having their support is extremely important.”
Ram Charan is the son of veteran actor Chiranjeevi.
Ram was praised by Upasana as her "go-to man" for when she is "hyper or having anxiety attacks." She continued, "He calmly settles me down and says, 'Okay, let's work it out. Ram will definitely participate actively in parenting.
In an earlier conversation with Humans Of Bombay, Upasana had shared how it was the "best time" for the couple to welcome their first child, a decade after tying-the-knot in 2012. She said, "I think it’s the best time because both of us are booming, both of us are financially secure and we can take care of our kids by ourselves. It was our mutual decision. As a couple, we didn’t let pressure hit us, whether it is from the society outside, our family or outsiders. Which says a lot about our relationship and how we are going to bring up our child as well."
