'Kannappa' Trailer Out: Vishnu Manchu’s much-anticipated epic drama 'Kannappa' finally unveiled its trailer over the weekend, giving audiences a glimpse into a grand mythological fantasy with an emotional core. What makes the project all the more special is Bollywood star Akshay Kumar stepping into Telugu cinema for the very first time, and that too, as Lord Shiva.
Set in a visually stunning mythical world, the trailer introduces Vishnu Manchu as Kannappa, a disbeliever who sees no divinity in stone idols and openly questions the existence of higher powers. However, fate has a different plan for him. Through a series of life-altering events, Kannappa comes face-to-face with an unseen force — the divine energy of Lord Shiva. Akshay Kumar plays the deity who guides the rebellious soul toward devotion and enlightenment.
“From denial to deep faith” seems to be the overarching theme of the film, which explores Kannappa’s spiritual transformation. The visuals promise a high-octane mix of action, fantasy and mythology.

'Kannappa' Trailer Date Pushed
The trailer was initially scheduled for launch on June 13, 2025, during a grand event in Indore. However, the event was postponed out of respect for the victims of the tragic Air India AI171 Dreamliner crash on June 12, which claimed over 250 lives. The team decided to delay the event and release the trailer quietly the following day.
'Kannappa' also boasts special appearances by some of Indian cinema’s biggest names — Mohanlal, Prabhas, and Kajal Aggarwal. Interestingly, reports suggest that Akshay, Prabhas, and Mohanlal did not charge a fee for their cameos, something Vishnu Manchu confirmed in an earlier interview.
Backed by Twenty Four Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment, 'Kannappa' is gearing up for a grand worldwide theatrical release on June 27.
