Kanchana 4: Raghava Lawrence Returns Once Again With Tamil Horror Comedy Franchise

'Kanchana' is all set to return with its fourth installment. Titled 'Kanchana 4', this horror film is all set to be directed by Raghavan Lawrence.

New Delhi: 'Kanchana' is all set to return with its fourth installment. Titled 'Kanchana 4', this horror film is all set to be directed by Raghavan Lawrence. The film's schooting will commence in September 2024 and Lawrence, himself will be starring in the film. 'Kanchana 4' is expected to be released in the summer of 2025.

 

Makers also shared the announcement on X( fromerly Twitter).

As per a Pinkvilla report, the script work on 'Kanchana 4' has already begun and the film will begin its shoot later this year.

About Kanchana

The horror-comedy Tamil language film 'Kanchana' is a horror series, the first part of which releeased in 2011. Written, produced and directed by Raghava Lawrence, the film also starred Sarathkumar, Kovai Sarala, Lakshmi Rai alongside Devadarshini and Simran in key roles.

The first 'Kanchana' released in 2011 and a Telugu-dubbedversion in Juky 2011. Despite a mixed response from critics, both films were successful blockbusters in the regions. Thanks to its success, 'Kanchana' was remade several times; in Kannada as 'Kalpana', in Sinhala as 'Maya', in Bengali as 'Mayabini', and in Hindi as 'Laxmii'.

As per Sify, 'Kanchana' became 2011's most successful Tamil film based on ROI. Made on a budget of Rs. 7cr with a marketing spend of Rs. 1.5 cr, the film collected more than Rs. 20 cr in Tamil Nadu alone.

Kanchana 2

Later, Raghava Lawrence directed and produced Kanchana 2', in which he played a sual role. The film also starred Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Renuka Jayaprakash, Rajendran, Sriman, Suhasini Maniratnam and more.

As a thrid film in the Muni film series, the film was also a commercial entertainer and collected over Rs. 180 cr worldwide. 

Kanchana 3

'Kanchana 3' released in 2019. Again, Raghava Lawrence wrote and directed the film. He also starred in a dual role with Nikki Tamboli, Oviya, Vedhika, Ri Djavi Alexandra. As the fourth isntallment of 'Muni', this installment was also a blockbuster with a collection of Rs. 130 cr.
