New Delhi: The action movie 'Jailer', starring Rajinikanth, has been in theatres for ten days. With a global total of Rs 500 crore, the movie has produced a staggering return. According to trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, 'Jailer' is the third Tamil movie to pass the mark.
Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan wrote on Twitter, “BREAKING: Jailer hits ₹500 crore. Jailer BREACHES ₹500 crore elite club at the worldwide box office in just 10 days. Becomes the THIRD movie from Tamil cinema to enter this club after 2.0 and Ponniyin Selvan: I. Also, the SECOND fastest movie after 2.0, which entered ( ₹500 crore club) in seven days.”
The early estimates shows that the film has made Rs 18 crore net in India on its tenth day in all languages, according to a report on Sacnilk.com. Rajinikanth starrer film, which had a total opening weekend gross of 48.35 crore on August 10 in all languages, has currently made around Rs 263.9 crore nett in India. The movie had an enormous rise in its Saturday revenue, earning Rs 18 crore nett after only making Rs 10.05 crore nett on Friday.
Rajinikanth comes back in theatres with the Tamil movie 'Jailer' after a gap of two years. The actor plays a senior prison officer pursuing a brutal gang boss in the movie.
Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, and Tamannaah Bhatia all play major roles in the Nelson Dilipkumar-directed movie. In 'Jailer', Jackie Shroff, Mohanlal, and Shiva Rajkumar also make an appearance. The movie, which cost between Rs 200 and Rs 240 crores to make, has so far paid back its expenses.
