New Delhi: Rajinikanth starrer 'Jailer' is all set to release on August 10, 2023. As fans await the grand film and the Tamil megastar's return on screen,  the advance bookings figure for the film is also skyrocketing. As per reports, 'Jailer' has already raked in more than Rs. 19 crores in advance bookings and there is still a day before release.


As per a report by the analysis and trade trends site Sacnilk.com, 'Jailer' has already earned Rs. 12.8 crores in India from advance bookings alone. Around Rs. 11.7 crores was collected from the Tamil version of the film while Rs. 1.1. crores from the Telugu version. 


As per South films industry tracker and analyst Manobala Vijayan, 'Jailer' has sold 37,000 tickets and collects Rs. 6.62 crores in the US. It is also likely to cross $1 million in advance ticket sales.


As per an HT report, the theatrical rights of 'Jailer' were sold together for Rs. 123 crores. Out of which Rs. 60 crores came from Tamil Nadu. In Karnataka, Rs. 10 crores, in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Rs. 12 crores, and in Kerala Rs. 5.5 crores. The ROI( rest of India) contributed to another Rs. 4 crores.


As per speculations and social media buzz, Rajinikanth has received a remuneration of Rs. 110 crores for this film. It has also been reported that Mohanlal, who will appear in a key role, has taken Rs. 8 crores.


Kannada film star Shivraj Kumar also has a key role in 'Jailer'. There has been buzz of his remuneration to be around Rs. 4 crores, the same as that of Javkie Shroff. Meanwhile, Tamannaah Bhatia receives Rs. 3 crores like Ramya Krishnan.


A Rajinikanth film released down South is no short of  a celebration. Especially, now when it means that the Tamil megastar will be returning to the screen after quite some time.


Several offices and schools in the southern states have announced a holiday on the release date of 'Jailer': August 10. 


A company said in its notice that it had declared August 10 a holiday due to the pile of leave requests it had received and even offered free tickets to employees. "We also take the privilege of going the extra mile to support anti piracy by providing free tickets to employees...”, a notice said.


'Jailer' marks Rajinikanth's return to the big screen after a gap of 2-years. In the film, he will be seen playing the role of a retired police officer. Jailer also marks his first collaboration with Nelson Diliplumar.


'Jailer' also stars Priyanka Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, and Vinayakan.
