Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller 'The Greatest of All Time' (GOAT) made an impressive debut at the box office during its opening weekend, both domestically and internationally. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film grossed ₹285 crore ($34 million) worldwide, according to Hollywood trade portal 'Deadline'.

In North America, 'GOAT earned approximately ₹25 crore ($3 million), while at the UK box office, it brought in ₹7.5 crore (£683K). In Australia, the film grossed ₹3 crore (A$556,407). Additionally, it made $2.8 million in the Gulf region. Released in over 40 countries by Hamsini Entertainment, 'GOAT' has become a global hit.
Thalapathy Vijay's second-to-last film before his anticipated entry into politics has already become the biggest Tamil film of 2024, achieving this feat on its second day of release. 'GOAT' grossed ₹155 crore worldwide on day two, surpassing Dhanush's 'Raayan', which made approximately ₹154 crore globally.
At the domestic box office, *GOAT* has also performed exceptionally well, grossing around ₹137 crore within the first four days of its release. Despite a slight dip on day two, the film has maintained strong momentum, largely due to Vijay's star power. It earned ₹44 crore on its opening day, ₹25.5 crore on day two, ₹33.5 crore on day three, and ₹34.2 crore on day four, bringing its total domestic earnings to ₹137.2 crore. The film is now closing in on the ₹150 crore mark.
Breaking down the domestic numbers, 'GOAT' made ₹121.05 crore from its Tamil shows, ₹8.3 crore from Hindi screenings, and ₹7.85 crore from Telugu shows, as per trade portal Sacnilk.

Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The Greatest of All Time stars Thalapathy Vijay in a double role. While audience reviews were mixed, the film has been a hit with Vijay’s fanbase, especially for its action sequences and his dual portrayal. The plot centers on Gandhi, a former leader of an anti-terrorism squad, who reunites with his team to confront the consequences of their past actions.
The film also stars Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, and Yogi Babu, and was released in theaters worldwide on September 5.
