Tamil actor Vijay is about to leave the film industry to focus on his political career. However, he has already signed one more movie, according to an announcement by Bengaluru-based distribution company KVN Productions. 


Thalapathy Vijay's last film


The news that Vijay will wrap up his 69th movie before taking up politics with his recently established Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party thrilled his fans. On their X (formerly Twitter) page, KVN Productions hinted on Friday that they will be producing Vijay's last movie. Before revealing his face, they showed a collection of moments from his popular movies.


“5 mani-ku sandhippom nanba nanbi. We are happy to announce that our first Tamil film is,” the tweet read. 






Later, they announced, “The Love for Thalapathy. We all grew up with your films & you’ve been a part of our lives every step of the way. Thankyou Thalapathy for entertaining us more than 30 years.”

A compilation of Vijay's interactions with his fans over the years was shared by them. In the video, the fans can also be heard expressing their connections to his films. The official introduction of the project is scheduled for this Saturday.






Vijay acting career


One of the biggest actors in Tamil cinema, Vijay made his acting debut in the 1992 film ‘Naalaiya Theerpu’. Over the years, he acted in popular films such as ‘Ghilli’, ‘Kushi’, ‘Love Today’, and ‘Coimbatore Mappillai’. His most recent film was in Venkat Prabhu's The Greatest of All Time, which released on September 5 in cinemas.


Vijay announced the launch of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, his political party, in February of this year. It was officially registered as a party by the Election Commission in September.
