‘GOAT’ or Greatest Of All Time, Thalapathy Vijay's most recent movie, has been dominating box office records since its premiere. According to box office tracking website Sacnilk, the Venkat Prabhu-directed film has reportedly earned over Rs 137 crore in just four days.
Vijay plays two characters in the movie, which tells the tale of MS Gandhi, a young field operative and spy. There will be a surprise when it makes its OTT debut on Netflix.
Vijay's GOAT OTT release
The movie broke multiple box office records when it was released in theatres on September 5. There is immense excitement as it is Thalapathy Vijay's final film before giving up on films to focus entirely on politics. Rumours were that the movie was getting too long at the editing table, so certain major parts were cut out. Venkat Prabhu, the director, had originally planned for the edit to last three hours and forty minutes.

GOAT was shortened to 3 hours for the theatrical release. Venkat Prabhu has that when the film makes its OTT debut, the viewers can watch the entire director’s cut on the platform. The entire 3 hours, 40 minutes of the film, along with several deleted scenes, are being restored for the OTT version.
‘GOAT’ will follow the typical 4-week OTT schedule as seen in the Tamil cinema industry. This implies that four weeks after its theatrical premiere, the movie will be available for streaming. It is anticipated to be released on OTT platforms by October 3. Netflix apparently paid a significant sum to acquire the streaming rights to the movie, which will be available for viewing on the platform.
