New Delhi: The highly anticipated Telugu film Game Changer, which stars Ram Charan, had a solid opening weekend during Sankranthi, collecting 72.5 crore rupees in only two days at the Indian box office. The film didn't live up to the tremendous expectations set for it when it hit the theatres on January 10, 2025, earning just Rs 51 crore in its first day of release.
'Game Changer' Box Office Collection Day 2
Film industry tracker Sacnilk reports that Game Changer's second day box office receipts in India were Rs 21.5 crore rupees, a slight decrease from the previous day. Only the Tamil version of the film brought in 3.82 crore rupees, while the Kannada and Malayalam versions brought in 0.03 crore and 0.02 crore, respectively. On January 11, the film's Telugu version had an occupancy rate of 31.19% nationwide, with 54.25% of the audience in Mahbubnagar coming out to watch it. Second place went to Warangal, with 46.5% occupancy.
Regional audiences responded differently to the film. With 123 shows, Jaipur had the greatest occupancy rate among Hindi-speaking markets at 54.5%, while Chennai's occupancy rate was 40.75% with just eight shows. There was a significant drop in occupancy rates in bigger cities such as Delhi NCR (668 shows) and Mumbai (26%; 444 shows).
Despite a strong start, 'Game Changer' may have a rough road to travel at the box office in the days to come due to the release of another Telugu film, 'Daaku Maharaj', on January 12.
