As the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections gets under way, voters in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are herding to their designated polling places to exercise their right to vote. Alongside thousands of voters, several celebrities from the Telugu cinema industry have been flocking to the polling booths.

Tollywood celebrities cast their vote

Several photos and videos of Tollywood celebrities arriving to cast their votes have surfaced on social media. Among the A-list stars, filmmaker SS Rajamouli, superstar Chiranjeevi, Oscar-winning music composer MM Keeravani, NTR Jr., Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, filmmaker Teja, and actors Srikanth, Manchu Manoj, and Kota Srinivasa Rao reached the booths to vote.

Chiranjeevi arrived to cast his vote in Hyderabad along with his wife, Surekha Konidela. During an interaction with the media, the actor urged citizens to practice their voting rights. “You have to vote because you are in a democracy. I request people to exercise their right to vote. Please come and make use of your power,” the actor requested.

‘RRR’ director Rajamouli, who was also spotted at his designated polling booth in Hyderabad, flew down from Dubai. He spoke to the media after casting his vote and said, “Show the country that we are responsible and we do care. Please come out and vote.” 

The filmmaker’s son, SS Karthikeya, noted, “I request everyone to come and exercise your vote. It is our responsibility and we need to fulfil that…,” Karthikeya noted.

Telugu cinema actors on voting 

Meanwhile, ‘Pushpa’ actor Allu Arjun spoke to the news agency ANI. He said, "Please cast your vote. It is the responsibility of all the citizens of the country. Today is the most crucial day for the next 5 years of our lives. There will be a huge voter turnout, as more and more people are coming out to vote. I would like to say, I am not politically aligned with any party. I am neutral to all parties.”

Voting for the fourth phase of the election began on Monday at 7 a.m. and will run till 6 p.m. for all Lok Sabha constituencies and assembly seats. In this phase, 96 parliamentary constituencies are covered.
