Megastar K Chiranjeevi was awarded the Guinness World Record for being the most prolific film star in the Indian film industry during an event held on Sunday. A representative from Guinness World Records presented the certificate to Chiranjeevi, recognising his exceptional contributions to cinema.
Chiranjeevi enters Guinness Book of World Records
The official certificate stated, "The most prolific film star in the Indian Film Industry-actor/dancer is Konidela Chiranjeevi, also known as Mega Star (India), achieved on 20 September 2024."
Expressing his gratitude, Chiranjeevi remarked, "I never expected to receive a Guinness World Record. Throughout my film career, dance has become an integral part of my life," and thanked everyone for the recognition.
According to sources close to the actor, Chiranjeevi has performed a staggering 24,000 dance moves in 537 songs across his 156 films over a span of 45 years. Notably, 22 September also marks the anniversary of Chiranjeevi’s debut in 1978.

Superstar Aamir Khan, who shared the stage with Chiranjeevi at the event, spoke about his admiration for the legendary actor. "I am a huge fan of Chiranjeevi garu and consider him my elder brother. I was thrilled to know that he was being given this honor. In every song of his, you can see his heart and soul, truly enjoying himself," Khan said.
Telangana CM congratulates Chiranjeevi
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy congratulated Chiranjeevi in a post on 'X', celebrating the actor’s achievement. "It is a matter of pride for Telugu people that the popular actor Konidela Chiranjeevi has earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records," he wrote.
Chandrababu Naidu in a post on 'X' said "I extend my heartiest congratulations to Mega Star and Padma Vibhushan awardee, @KChiruTweets Garu, on being recognised by The Guinness World Records as the Most Prolific Film Star in Indian Film Industry, Actor/ Dancer. He has made an unparalleled contribution to Telugu cinema with his grace and artistry. This recognition not only adds another feather to his cap, but it also elevates the pride of Telugu people all over the world."
Chiranjeevi, a towering figure in South Indian cinema, has starred in over 150 films across Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada. Some of his most notable films include Rudra Veena, Indra, Tagore, Swayam Krushi, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Stalin, and Gang Leader.
In May, he was honored with the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award, alongside cinema legend Vyjayanthimala. He had previously received the Padma Bhushan in 2006.
