New Delhi: Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut head the cast of 'Chandramukhi 2,' which was directed by P Vasu. 'Chandramukhi,' starring Rajinikanth and Jyothika, was a box office phenomenon in 2005, and this horror comedy is a sequel to it. In a box office battle against other notable films including 'Fukrey 3', 'The Vaccine War', and 'Kannur Squad', the film made its debut on September 28. According to Sacnilk, 'Chandramukhi 2' garnered a sizable India net collection of Rs 29.00 crore. Reports suggest that on its sixth day in theatres, 'Chandramukhi 2' added another Rs 2.00 crore to its net revenues across all languages in the country, bringing its grand total to an impressive Rs 31 crore.
The film's occupancy on Tuesday was 13%, while that of the Telugu version was 16.71%. It has almost 40 crore in international sales.
Rajinikanth watched the movie and praised Raghava Lawrence's acting. His thoughts were expressed in a letter he gave to the production crew. He wrote, “My best wishes to director P Vasu for presenting his biggest blockbuster Chandramukhi in a completely new angle as a great entertainer to cinema lovers, and to Raghava Lawrence for his wonderful acting and the entire team."
Lyca Productions tweeted the letter from Rajinikanth with the caption, "A surprise love note from Thalaivar @rajinikanth We are honored by your praise for #Chandramukhi2 Thank you Thalaivar."
The film's premiere had been set for September 15, but technical issues forced the date to be pushed back to September 28.
