Telugu superstar Allu Arjun appeared before the police on Tuesday as part of the ongoing investigation into the tragic stampede that occurred during the screening of Pushpa-2 on December 4. A photograph of the actor leaving his residence has surfaced online, garnering attention on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

In the picture, Allu Arjun is seen dressed in an all-black ensemble as he steps out of his home. His wife, Sneha Reddy, and their daughter are also captured in the frame, smiling as they bid him farewell.

Allu Arjun was summoned for questioning

The actor was summoned to appear at 11 a.m. for questioning. Police stepped up security at the police station and imposed restrictions on movement of vehicles. Allu Arjun's father Allu Arvind and his lawyers also reached the police station. The legal team of the actor was at his residence till late Monday night.

Fans quickly rallied around the actor, sending messages of support. One fan wrote, “Don’t worry, Allu Arjun – the support is stronger than ever!” Another added, “No worry we fans with you always.”

Tragedy at Sandhya Theatre and what happened after

The investigation gained momentum after Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand released a video detailing the events leading to the stampede at Sandhya Theatre. The tragic incident claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, while her eight-year-old son sustained injuries and was hospitalised. Allu Arjun is likely to be questioned based on the video evidence and also the statements made by him after his release from jail and on December 21.

Following the incident, the police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management. The case was filed based on a complaint lodged by the deceased woman’s family.

On December 13, Allu Arjun was arrested in connection with Revathi’s death. However, the Telangana High Court granted him four weeks of interim bail on the same day, and he was released from custody on the morning of December 14.

During an Assembly session on December 21, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy strongly criticized Allu Arjun for visiting the theatre without police authorisation and organising a "roadshow" despite the tragic stampede that claimed a woman's life and left her son critically injured.

Responding to the accusations, Allu Arjun held a press conference later that day, dismissing the allegations as baseless. He also expressed his disappointment, stating that the character assassination had deeply hurt him. However, the police subsequently released CCTV footage that contradicted the actor’s statements.
