Tollywood actor Allu Arjun appeared before the police on Tuesday for questioning in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case. Amid heightened security, the actor arrived at Chikkadpally Police Station around 11 a.m. after being issued a notice on Monday, directing him to appear for further questioning. Police imposed restrictions on vehicle movement around the station, while Allu Arjun's father, Allu Arvind, and his legal team also arrived at the scene.
Allu Arjun to be questioned by police
The stampede, which occurred during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ on December 4, resulted in the death of a woman and left her son critically injured. Following the incident, police filed charges against the theatre management, Allu Arjun, and his team for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 and spent a night in judicial custody. However, he was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court the same day, and released from Chanchalguda Jail the following morning.
The latest notice to Allu Arjun comes amid reports that police are considering approaching the High Court to challenge his interim bail. Police Commissioner C.V. Anand confirmed on Sunday that further action would be taken based on legal consultations. The police also released a 10-minute CCTV footage compiled from over 1,000 video clips, offering a detailed account of the incident.
Allu Arjun, named as accused number 11 in the case, was arrested by city police on December 13 in connection with the woman’s death. However, the Telangana High Court granted him four-week interim bail the same day, leading to his release from prison on the morning of December 14.
Allu Arjun's house vandalised
Meanwhile, a Hyderabad court has granted bail to six individuals accused of vandalising actor Allu Arjun's residence in Jubilee Hills. The accused appeared in court on Monday morning and were granted bail, according to ANI, citing advocate Ramdas.
The incident occurred on Sunday when a group of protestors stormed Allu Arjun's home, holding placards and shouting slogans. One protestor reportedly climbed the compound wall and began throwing tomatoes, said the Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, Hyderabad.
Police detained six individuals who claimed to be members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC).
Allu Arjun was not at home when the incident took place, reported PTI quoting police sources. Following the incident, security was beefed up at the actor's residence.
