Here is a rundown of the highest-grossing Telugu films of the year 2024, which have wowed critics and moviegoers.

With a number of critically acclaimed and commercially successful blockbusters, the Telugu cinema industry dominated the box office in 2024. With the success of Nag Ashwin's recently released film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, the Telugu film industry saw many blockbusters. Here is a rundown of the highest-grossing Telugu films of the year, which have wowed critics and moviegoers with their riveting dramas and exciting thrillers.

Let's take a look at some of the Telugu top-grosser films of 2024:

Kalki 2898 AD

This epic saga directed by Nag Ashwin, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Hassan was a crowning stroke of the Telugu cinema and received astounding reactions from the public. The film has been minting money since the day it was released, earning Rs 55 crores on its opening day. The masterpiece crossed Rs 680 crores in just six days and grossed over Rs 700 crores within a week, making Prabhas the second actor after Shah Rukh Khan to achieve such shattering numbers.

Hanu-Man

This action-centered movie was another crowning accomplishment directed by Prasanth Varma, starring Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Vinay Rai in the lead roles. The movie with a worldwide gross of over Rs 350 crores, was mounted on a budget of Rs 40 crores. Now, the film has been ranked as the second-highest-grossing South Indian film of 2024 and the ninth-highest-grossing Telugu film worldwide. 

Prasanth Varma’s smashing hit was also showcased in VFX by Halo Hues Studios which contributed to escalation in the gross collection. 

Guntur Kaaram

This gutsy, thrilling movie was directed by Trivikram Srinivas, starring Mahesh Babu, Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ramya Krishnan, Brahmanandan and produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and S. Radha Krishna. This intense entertainer collected Rs 46 crores in India and Rs 94 crores worldwide on its opening day. The box office collection had augmented to Rs 107 crores in a week, finally crossing over Rs 200 crores as its gross worldwide.

Tillu Square

This romantic crime comedy directed by  Mallik Ram, starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran had an overall budget of 40 crores inclusive of promotion cost. This rom-com collected 29.50 crores in India and resulted in a worldwide gross of Rs. 134 crores. 

Naa Saami Ranga

This thriller released on 14 January 2024, was directed by Vijay Binni and starred Ashika Ranganath, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Mirna Menon, Rukshar Dhillon, Allari Naresh, and Raj Tarun in the lead roles. Initially, the film’s collection was going with the momentum but later didn’t continue as per it. This action banger managed to collect Rs. 37.49 INR as its gross collection.

Ooru Peru Bhairavakona

This horror comedy released on 16 February 2024 was directed by Vi Anand, starring Kavya Thapar, Sundeep Kishan, Varsha Bollamma, Kushee Ravi, Vennela Kishore, Harsha Chemudu and Mahaboob Basha as the lead roles. The film collected Rs 8.98 crore at the box office in the first three days and Rs 10.98 crore during its five-day run. This movie collected Rs 19.91 crore as its India gross and Rs 22.16 crore as its worldwide gross collection.

Eagle

Karthik Gattamneni's action flick, featuring Ravi Teja, Kavya Thapar, Anupama Parameswaram, Madhoo, Praneetha Paitnaik, Vinay Rai, and Navdeep, was a box office smash. Released on February 9, 2024, this brutal, fearless, and violent film earned Rs 30.85 crores globally and Rs 23.78 crores in India.

The Family Star

Reviews for Parasuram's family drama, which featured Vijay Deverkonda, Mrunal Thakur, Divyansha Kaushik, Vasuki, Rohini Hattangadi, Marissa Rose Gordon, Ajay Ghosh, and others, were all over the internet. On its first day in India, this action-packed drama made Rs 5.75 crores. The film's total earnings ranged from Rs 19.78 to Rs 23.20 crores.

Saindhav 

Directed and written by Sailesh Kolanu, this harrowing film has Daggubati Venkatesh, Ruhani Sharma, Andrea Jeremiah, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Shradha Srinath among its main actors. Approximate earnings for the first three days of the action-packed thriller were Rs 10.1 crore. The total revenue was Rs 18.65 crores globally, with a further Rs. 14.8 crores coming from the Andhra Pradesh/Telangana region.

Gaami

This adventurous drama was directed by Vidyadhar Kagita, and produced by Karthik Sabreesh. The film stars Ramya Pasupileti, Vishwak Sen, Chandni Chowdary, Harika Pedada, Mohammad Sammad, Mayank Parak and Dayanand Reddy in its lead roles. The film was considered a major box office success grossing around Rs 22 crores with a budget of Rs  6 crores hence creating a large profit margin.
