Alimony of Rs. 250 cr

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya shocked their fans when they announced their separation just days before their fourth wedding anniversary. Their split sparked a series of rumour mills about the reason behind their separation. Many even claimed that Samantha demanded an alimony of Rs. 250 cr following the divorce.

The rumours went so out of hand, that at her appearance on Koffee With Karan 7, Samantha addressed the false reports. 

When the celebrity show-host Karan Johar asked the worst thing she read about herself in the recent past, she said, "That I took Rs 250 crore in alimony. First they made up the story about the alimony, Rs 250 crores. Then they realised that this doesn’t seem like a believable story. So they switched it to Rs 25 crores. The truth is, I didn’t take a penny from anyone.”

Chaintanya family uncomfortable with Sam’s bold choice of roles and scenes

Another rumour that circulated post Samantha's divorce was her husband's family being uncomfortable with their daughter-in-law's glam game, photoshoots and bold role and scene choices, leading to friction within the family.

Chaintanya himself hinted in an interview that he wouldn't accept roles that could “tarnish his family’s name,” fuelling further speculation. Samantha, however, remained unapologetic and even chose to do an iten number, "Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava” in Pushpa, which made headlines right after her divorce. 

Myositis treatment

In 2023, Samantha was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called myositis. The actor known for her courage, despite having a tough time on the personal front, took a long break from acting to get treatment done.

Unfortunately, her health too became a topic of controversy when reports emerged that she allegedly took Rs. 25 cr from a Telugu star for her treatment. Samantha again addressed these when she called these 'false claims'. Taking to her Instagram stories, she slammed reports and posted, "25 crores to treat myositis!? Someone got you a pretty bad deal. Sobhita Dhuliapla angle

Soon after her divorce from Naga Chaitanya, rumours about his alleged relationship with Sobhita Dhulipala came to light. Fans accused Samantha of trying to tarnish Chay's image. Liver detox misinformation on podcast

Recently, in one of her wellness podcasts, Samantha spoke about the benfits of 'detoxing the liver' a concept that did not go down well among many. When a medical professional called her out for spreading 'misinformation', saying, "This is Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a film star, misleading over 33 million followers on ‘detoxing the liver’,” Samantha responded by saying that this was what worked for her.
