Mumbai: During the lockdown last year, a mini food truck named 'Being Haangryy' by Salman Khan's 'Being Human Foundation' reached various places in Mumbai and provided necessary items to millions of needy people. But now the ‘Radhe’ actor’s foundation has taken an initiative to take care of the police and other frontline workers at all the places in Mumbai during this lockdown amid the rising cases of COVID-19.

ABP News earlier revealed how this mini food truck is transporting ration items to the common people by roaming in different areas every day. Once again, our eyes fell on this moving mini food truck. This time the focus of the food truck is to provide food to the frontline workers who are serving the country to keep the people safe from the new wave of coronavirus. They are being provided different types of snacks, tea and bottled water every evening.

ABP News captured this truck delivering packaged food in paper bags to policemen from Bandra to Juhu on the north side and Bandra to Worli on the south.

ABP News reached the spot and spoke to Rahul Kanal, who is overseeing this initiative of NGOs named 'Being Human Foundation' and 'I Love Mumbai' and Gyaneshwar Ganore, Senior Police Inspector of Santa Cruz Police Station.

Rahul Kanal said, “Last time in Mumbai, our focus was to reach more and more needy, poor and hungry people. But this time, along with the Mumbai Police, we are trying to provide relief to the medical staff and BMC employees through breakfast and tea.”

From 5.00 pm to 10.00 pm daily, this food truck has been working to deliver snacks to policemen and other frontline workers at more than 100 locations in Mumbai for the last four days.

Talking to ABP News, Senior Police Inspector Ganore expressed happiness that the 'Being Human Foundation' is taking special care of the policemen in this way. He said, “Policemen are struggling day and night on the streets to strictly implement the guidelines of Corona. In such a situation, we thank Salman and Rahul wholeheartedly for this unique initiative of providing breakfast, tea and water to the hungry thirsty policemen.”

Rahul further revealed, “Salman got the idea of delivering breakfast to the policemen from his father Salim Khan and mother Salma Khan. The police who are performing their duty near Salman's house 'Galaxy Apartment' in Bandra, is being delivered daily food by Salim and Salma Khan. Salman Khan thought why not provide breakfast to all the policemen and frontline workers of Mumbai daily. This is just the result of that.”

Rahul Kanal said that during the lockdown last year, through this food truck, around 2 lakh people were provided lentils, rice, flour, oil etc in 4 months.

Rahul concluded by saying, “As long as there is a lockdown in Mumbai, we will continue to provide relief to all the policemen of Mumbai and the rest of the frontline workers in the same way.”
