New Delhi: Bollywood star Richa Chadha has established herself as a reliable performer who is not shy about expressing her opinions or relating personal anecdotes. In a recent interview, she discussed her experience with jealous co-stars in detail. Richa reflected on her early days in the industry. In her debut 2008 film, ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’, the actress said that a jealous co-star had thrown away her stuff. The crew and cast did not treat her well on the set.

Richa Chadha revealed that she had experienced discrimination on several occasions. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Richa Chadha said jealousy was typical in Bollywood. She recalled, “It’s happened several times. In fact, on my first film there was a time when I felt really bad. I had come straight from college to do a scene in Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye, and I had 103-104 fever. I was told that someone is going to come at a later time, so till then I can use this particular vanity van, and for the whole day I would anyway be shooting. So I got ready and left, but in the meantime someone came, their staff threw all my stuff.”

Richa Chadha has a positive outlook and doesn't blame fate or karma for her difficulties. The actress stressed the need of creating a respectful atmosphere in the film industry.

Starring Abhay Deol, the film ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’ has Paresh Rawal, Manu Rishi, Manjot Singh, and Archana Puran Singh in significant roles. The film, directed by Dibakar Banerjee, was recognised as the Best Popular Film and won National Film Award.

In her private life, Richa married her longtime lover, the actor Ali Fazal, in October 2022. They first crossed met in 2012 on the ‘Fukrey’ set and have been setting relationship goals ever since.
