Apple is likely to unveil the iPhone 15 series this fall and the lineup is likely to enter mass production next month, according to analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Tech Research. In a big change, this year's iPhone Pro Max model will be different from last year's iteration and may come with a new periscope zoom lens that would be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max only. This means that the iPhone 15 Pro Max would have the best camera system among all the iPhone 15 series models, says a report by 9to5Mac. Apple has traditionally followed a trend where the Pro and Pro Max models have been spec-for-spec identical except for the screen size and battery size.

However, according to Jeff, this year would see a big change as iPhone 15 may come with a new periscope zoom lens while other models would not get it.

The launch of the Apple iPhone 15 series is months away, but a recent report claimed that the iPhone 15 Pro is likely to be unveiled in a new Crimson colour. As per a report by 9to5Mac, the upcoming Crimson colourway would be lighter than the existing purple colour variant of iPhone 14 Pro. The tech giant is also said to be working to introduce a new Green colour variant of the vanilla iPhone 15.

Meanwhile, Apple's largest and most prominent manufacturing partner Foxconn has recently ramped up hiring at the world's biggest iPhone factory in Zhengzhou province of China, weeks ahead of the launch of the upcoming iPhone 15. Apple is likely to unveil the iPhone 15 series this fall.

Apple is also likely to unveil three new smartwatches this year, alongside the upcoming iPhone 15 lineup, said Bloomberg's Mark Gurman's "Power On" newsletter last month. The three new smartwatches from Apple are codenamed N207, N208 and N210. One of the smartwatches may be the Apple Watch Ultra 2 while the other two are likely to be part of the Apple Watch Series 9. All three smartwatches are said to debut in September at Apple's fall event even though Gurman did not mention a launch timeline of the following products. Apple has been following a tradition of refreshing its iPhone and smartwatch lineup in September.
